About The Glass Bakery:

Cara Wedgbrow established The Glass Bakery in Nova Scotia in 2010. Cara creates collectible series of charming shoreline and woodland glass birds to capture your eye and your imagination. Each bird is unique - simply and beautifully handcrafted from coloured glass with no paints, moulds or glazes.

Pausing to watch birds can bring a smile. Their enchanting behaviour awakens a connection with nature, engages the senses and soothes the soul. After the passing of her dearly loved dog, it was just such relaxing moments observing the birds around her seashore home, that inspired Cara to create glass birds.

Cara captures the innocence and playfulness of each bird in her artful designs, to the delight bird and nature lovers, of all ages. Whether a shoreline or coastal bird like her Sandpiper or Puffin, or her popular woodland Cardinal, each bird’s “personality” reminds you of a special place, time, or person.

In memory of her dog and his profound legacy, The Glass Bakery is developing retail collections to raise funds for local and national Canadian dog charities.

The Glass Bakery strives to be environmentally aware and responsible, recycling and reusing materials wherever possible; minimizing the use of plastic packaging material and offsetting the energy used in the creation of the glass birds.
